United Court of The Sandias, Inc. is pleased to offer the UCS King Father XVI C.C. Parr & Queen Mother XVI Barbara Cruse Scholarship. The scholarship is to honor and promote academic excellence among present and potential students (returning students, and high school graduates/GED). The scholarship is a minimum of $250 for the Academic Fall year. Students must be enrolled full time in a post secondary institution of higher education seeking a Certificate, Associates, or Bachelor Degree in the State of New Mexico for twelve 12 credits/Full Time or more to be eligible.
Applicants must provide proof of residency in the State of New Mexico.
Recipients of the awards will be required to present a 2 to 4 minute speech in May at the UCS Coronation event. The publication of name and photo of award recipients will be used for recognition of award in publications.
Awards will be made on the basis of:
1. Leadership, accomplishments, and potential.
2. Personal attitude, enthusiasm, and goals stated in essay.
3. Financial Need.
4. RECENT Letters of Recommendation (Must be less than 6 months old).
5. Proof of New Mexico Residency.
6. Grade Point Average.
7. Letter of Acceptance to a New Mexico institution of higher education,
8. Appearance of application (typed).
9. Volunteerism, leadership and activism.
*Scholarship awards will be distributed in one lump sum after verification of enrollment unless otherwise specified.
Applicants will be notified late April confirming whether they have, or have not, been selected.
