Anita Salas Memorial Fund

The Anita Salas Memorial Fund, a non profit 501(c)3, helps pay for women's breast or cervical cancer treatment, or related bills such as transportation, lodging, or medications for treatment. These women are moderate to low income, under insured or uninsured. The funds go directly to the bills, not the women.

100% of the donations help women in New Mexico.  There is only a 5% administration fee.  So, 95% is used for direct breast and cervical cancer services for women; with nominal amounts toward fundraising.  http://www.cancernm.org/bcc/anita-salas.html

Healthcare for the Homeless

For over two decades, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) has served our community as the only health care organization in Central New Mexico dedicated exclusively to providing services to homeless people.  AHCH provides critical services to over 7,500 men, women and children every year.  By addressing the health-related causes of homelessness, AHCH makes it possible for people to find solutions to end their homelessness.     http://abqhch.org/

N'MPower

The N’MPower Program is part of the Mpowerment Project that is being used successfully in diverse communities across the United States and beyond. The Mpowerment Project is a model HIV prevention program that has been specifically designed to address the needs of young gay and bisexual men. The Project mobilizes young gay/bisexual men to shape a healthy community for themselves, build positive social connections, and support their friends to have safer sex.

The Mpowerment Project is the first documented HIV prevention intervention for young gay/bisexual men to succeed in reducing sexual risk behavior. The program has been carefully developed, evaluated, and continually refined over the course of twelve years by prominent behavioral scientists from the University of California, San Francisco’s Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS), a leading-edge HIV/AIDS research institution.

N’MPower’s Mission:
To promote gay and bisexual men’s health and prevent HIV transmission by building a sense of community, fostering communication and nurturing self-esteem.
N’MPower has been working to empower the young, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning communities of New Mexico since 1997.
